Go to Solution. It has been reported for a long time that when firmware is updated overnight the first boot does not properly load some settings. Mine went out mid-show playback. Simple restart fixed the problem. Didn't have to reprogram the remote for the 30 second skip.
I too have had the 30 sec skip working well - until the last month it seems. Now, every few days the 30 sec skip reverts to 5 minutes. The same issue sometimes doesn't load the remote pairing information intermittently on firmware update. Repairing by RF without hardware reboot works fine as does the re-doing of the exit exit exit also restores that function it is changing the box not the remote in both cases.
Since this issue is years old it is not likely to be fixed in the near-term. The set top box will have to receive the command: exit exit exit I would like to know too.

In regards to controlling your TV, the only buttons that will work on your TV are volume, mute, power and input. The up and down arrows will not control anything on the TV just the X1 box.
The X1 remotes will not control the input setting on some TVs. If your TV allows multiple presses of the input button to change inputs you will be OK. However if you need to press any other buttons to cycle or confirm inputs the XR15 will not work. Yes, Andrew is right.Hypixel forums report
You programmed the remote to control the TV but you haven't "paired" it to the cable box. It is more than one step. Please follow Andrews suggestions. You could always have Comcast send a tech out to assist you. Apparently almost every command that you send from your remote control goes to the xfinity server and then returns to the TV. Press the Fast Forward button and the command is first sent to xfinity and then returns to the remote which then sends the command to the TV.Fibre infrastructure
Press Play, Rewind, etc and the same thing happens. There is a special code that will stop your remote control from doing this and your commands will be sent directly to the TV. About 2 or 3 years ago, a Comcast repairman came and had to replace some of our equipment.
He could see that the remote control delay was worse than usual that day so he put a code into my remote control to keep most commands local.
Unfortunately, I accidentally returned that remote to Comcast with some other equipment and of course, I don't remember the code and can't find where I wrote it down. I checked with The Ultimate One, my wife, that is. And she remembers the exact same as I remember - the Comcast service person came to our house for something else and when I mentioned that sometimes, commands would be very slow.
The service person said "type this into one of your remotes and that one remote will NOT go back to Comcast unless it has to. This was 2, 3 or maybe 4 years ago. I am fairly certain that it was X1 but maybe it was whatever was before X1? If there are signal problems there, the agent can schedule a call to get the problems fixed.
